Maringá é uma cidade moderna e apesar de ser bastante conhecida pelas suas amplas áreas verdes, ela também oferece atrações culturais e históricas. Uma ótima opção para viagem de lazer em qualquer época do ano!
Um dos principais cartões postais da cidade paranaense, que não pode faltar no seu roteiro, é a Catedral Metropolitana Basílica Menor Nossa Senhora da Glória, o monumento é símbolo da cidade e é bastante conhecido por sua arquitetura arrojada. Dentro da Catedral há vitrais maravilhosos confeccionados em cristal francês que, em um jogo de luzes e cores, representam em linhas abstratas a história da criação e da caminhada para a salvação do homem. Ainda em seu interior há uma escada que leva os visitantes a um mirante com uma espetacular vista da cidade. Ao redor da construção há lindos espelhos d’aguá que à noite ficam ainda mais belos com a iluminação projetada.
A Catedral fica no centro da cidade, então quando você for visita-la pode, também, aproveitar e conferir o comercio local com uma boa variedade de produtos da região.
Outro ponto turístico muito visitado é o Parque do Ingá, reserva florestal de 47,3 hectares, que foi urbanizada em 1970. É o mais tradicional parque da cidade e é muito utilizada pelos cidadãos locais que praticam exercícios em seus 3km de pista. Além de seu belíssimo lago, no Parque do Ingá lá há, também, um Jardim Japonês que foi construído nos anos 70, em homenagem ao príncipe do Japão Akihiro e a esposa Michiko que foram visitar a cidade.
Para um passeio mais cultural, outro lugar que vale a pena ser visitado é o Teatro Calil Haddad. Considerado um dos maiores e melhores teatros do norte paranaense tem em seu nome uma homenagem ao precursor do teatro em Maringá, Calil Haddad.
É um teatro com uma complexa infraestrutura e emana arte. Considerado, também, como um centro cultural o espaço do teatro abriga o Museu de História e Arte – Helentón Borba Cortes, sala de exposições, a Divisão de Patrimônio Histórico e Cultural e, no hall de entrada teatro, pode-se apreciar um painel em mosaico do artista Poty Lazzarotto – última obra do artista!
Como Maringá é uma cidade universitária, também é muito conhecida pela sua noite agitada, com uma variedade grande de bares e casas noturnas que agradam todos os gostos musicais!

One of the main highlights of the city in Paraná is the Cathedral of Maringá (Catedral Metropolitana Basílica Menor Nossa Senhora da Glória), without which no itinerary to Maringá would be complete; the monument is a symbol of the city and it’s widely known for its bold architecture. Inside the Cathedral there are marvelous stained-glass Windows made from French Crystal which, in a play of light and colors, depict, in an abstract manner, the story of creation and the route towards the salvation of mankind. In its interior, there is also a staircase that leads the visitors to an overlook with a spectacular view of the city. All round the building there are beautiful water features that are even prettier at night with the designed illumination.
The Cathedral is in the center of the city, so its location makes it easier to check out the local commerce, which displays a good variety of regional products whenever you decide to visit it.
Another popular tourist attraction is the park of Ingá (Parque do Ingá), a forest reserve of 116.9 acres, which was urbanized in 1970. It is the oldest park in the city and it’s often used by local citizens who exercise on its 3 kilometers of running track. Aside from its beautiful lake, in the park of Ingá there is also a Japanese Garden, built in the 70s, honoring the Japanese prince Akihito and his wife Michiko who visited the city.
For a cultural tour, another place worth visiting is the Calil Haddad theatre. It’s considered one of the best and biggest theaters in the north of Paraná and its name honors the pioneer of theater in Maringá, Calil Haddad.
It’s a theater with a complex infrastructure and it emanates art. It’s perceived, as well, as a cultural center; the space of the theater houses the Museum of History and Art – Helentón Borba Cortes, an exhibition room, the Division of Cultural and Historical Heritage and, in the entrance hall of the theater, it is also possible to admire a mosaic panel by the artist Poty Lazzarotto – his very last piece!
Since Maringá is a university city, it is also well-known for its bustling nightlife, with a huge variety of bars and clubs that are sure to please every musical taste!
